Abstract

  • Total workforce in Central Java in February 2020 was 18.78 million, an increase of 0.19 million compared to February 2019. And the Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) increased slightly to 70.22 percent.
  • In the last year, unemployment has increased by around 14 thousand people in absolute terms, but the increase in unemployment is lower than the increase in the number of employed people so that the TPT rate only rose by 0.03 percentage points to 4.25 percent in February 2020, compared to February 2019 The highest TPT was found in the population group with a vocational high school (SMK) graduation education, which amounted to 7.50 percent.
  • 10.52 million people (58.49 percent) of the population work in informal activities. Over the past year, informal workers decreased 1.74 percentage points compared to February 2019.
