Abstract

  • In April 2022, Central Java experienced inflation of 1.07 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 109.74. Of the six CPI cities in Central Java, all cities experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in Cilacap City at 1.68 percent with a CPI of 110.08; and the lowest inflation occurred in Semarang City at 0.86 percent with a CPI of 109.37.
  • The main cause of inflation in Central Java in April 2022 was the increase in the price of gasoline, cooking oil, purebred chicken, cars and eggs. The main driver of inflation in Central Java is the decline in prices for red chili, cayenne pepper, rice, shallots, and online 4-wheeled vehicle tariffs.
