Abstract

In June 2022, Central Java experienced inflation of 0.85 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 111.32. Of the six CPI cities in Central Java, all cities experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in Semarang City at 0.93 percent with a CPI of 110.97 and the lowest inflation occurred in Purwokerto City at 0.59 percent with a CPI of 111.93.

The main cause of inflation in Central Java in June 2022 is the increase in prices for red chili, cayenne pepper, shallots, air transportation, and broiler eggs. The main driver of inflation in Central Java is the decline in the price of cooking oil, broiler meat, garlic, inter-city transportation, and laptops/notebooks.

The inflation rate for the calendar year in June 2022 is 3.75 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (June 2022 to June 2021) is 4.97 percent.
