Abstract

Farmers’ Terms of Trade (FTT) August 2023 was 111.85 or rose 1.09 percent.

Dried harvested grain (GKP) price at the farmer level increased by 3.62 percent and the price of premium quality rice at the huller level increased by 1.88 percent.

FTT is the ratio of the index of prices received by farmers (It) and the index of prices paid by farmers (Ib).

FTT is an indicator to measure the farmers’ purchasing power parity in rural areas. FTT shows the terms of trade of agricultural products with goods and services consumption and production costs.

In August 2023, national FTT was 111.85 or increased by 1.09 percent compared with that in July 2023. The increase in FTT was due to the increase in the index of prices received by farmers (It) at 1.08 percent, while the index of prices paid by farmers (Ib) fell at 0.01 percent.

In August 2023, Sulawesi Barat Province experienced the highest increase in FTT at 2.47 percent. On the other hand, Sumatera Selatan Province had the highest decrease in FTT at 1.32 percent.

The price index of household consumption (IKRT) in August 2023 decreased by 0.05 percent in Indonesia, which was due to the decrease in the indexes of Food, Beverage, and Tobacco expenditure group.

Nationally, Agriculture’s Terms of Trade (NTUP) was 112.55 in August 2023 or increased by 1.02 percent compared with July 2023.
