Abstract

The number of domestic air transport passengers departing in September 2024 was 5.4 million, a decrease of 2.69 percent compared to August 2024. International air transport passengers decreased by 4.13 percent to 1.7 million. The freight transported by domestic air transport decreased by 5.96 percent to 53.6 thousand tons. From January to September 2024, the number of domestic air transport passengers was 47.5 million, increasing by 2.20 percent. The number of international air transport passengers was 14.0 million, which increased by 23.28 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Moreover, freight increased by 8.36 percent to 491.1 thousand tons.
The number of domestic sea transport passengers departing in September 2024 was 2.1 million, decreasing by 3.14 percent compared to August 2024. The freight transported by domestic sea transport increased by 1.12 percent, turning 33.1 million tons. From January to September 2024, the number of domestic sea transport passengers reached 19.4 million and increased by 27.17 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Meanwhile, freight increased by 0.04 percent, reaching 276.7 million tons.
The number of railway passengers departing in September 2024 was 35.3 million people, which decreased by 1.43 percent compared to August 2024. Similar to the number of passengers, freight transported by train decreased by 5.82 percent to 6.2 million tons. The number of passengers reached 312.8 million from January to September 2024 and increased by 14.28 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Moreover, the cumulative freight transported by train rose 9.39 percent to 54.4 million tons.
