Abstract
In June 2021, Central Java experienced deflation of -0.17 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.05. Of the six CPI cities in Central Java, all cities experienced deflation. The highest deflation occurred in the city of Tegal -0.36 percent with a CPI of 106.28 and the lowest deflation occurred in the city of Kudus -0.09 percent with a CPI of 105.29.
The main cause of deflation in Central Java in June 2021 is
the decline in prices for broiler meat, red chili, cayenne pepper, cellular
phones and coconut. The main barrier to deflation in Central Java is the
increase in the price of cars, broiler eggs, gold jewelry, non-foreman
artisans, and filtered kretek cigarettes.
