Abstract

In May 2023, Indonesia's National Wholesale Price Index changed by 4.43 percent compared to May 2022 (year-on-year/y-on-y). The most significant change in the index is the Mining and Quarrying Sector, which increased by 9.75 percent.
The year-on-year price change in May 2023 was contributed mainly by paddies, coffee beans, mined salt, rice, filtered cigarettes with clove, petrol/ gasoline, diesel fuel, and wheat flour.
The WPI in May 2023 changed by 0.20 percent month-to-month (m-to-m) and 1.50 percent year-to-date (y-to-d).
The WPI Construction Materials in May 2023 changed by 4.34 percent year-on-year, partly due to the increasing prices of diesel fuel, sands, asphalt, cement, and stone for construction foundations.
