Abstract

In December 2024 there will be year on year (y-on-y) inflation of 1.57 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.80. The highest y-on-y provincial inflation occurred in Papua Mountain Province at 5.36 percent with a CPI of 111.80 and the lowest occurred in North Sulawesi Province at 0.44 percent with a CPI of 107.28. Provincial deflation y-on-y occurred in Gorontalo Province at 0.79 percent with a CPI of 106.60. Meanwhile, the highest y-on-y district/city inflation occurred in Jayawijaya Regency at 5.36 percent with a CPI of 111.80 and the lowest occurred in North Minahasa Regency at 0.02 percent with a CPI of 110.61. The deepest y-on-y district/city deflation occurred in Gorontalo City at 1.10 percent with a CPI of 105.07 and the lowest occurred in Muko Muko Regency at 0.16 percent with a CPI of 104.79.
Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in most expenditure group indices, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 1.90 percent; clothing and footwear group by 1.16 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.59 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 1.04 percent; health group by 1.93 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 1.17 percent; education group at 1.94 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 2.48 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 7.02 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decline in the index were: the transportation group by 0.30 percent and the information, communication and financial services group by 0.27 percent.
The core component y-on-y inflation rate in December 2024 was 2.26 percent, m-to-m inflation was 0.17 percent, and y-to-d inflation was 2.26 percent.
