Abstract

In January 2023, Indonesia's National Wholesale Price Index changed by 5.59 percent compared to January 2022 (year-on-year/y-on-y). The most significant change in the index is the Mining and Quarrying Sector, which increased by 12.22 percent.
The year-on-year price change in January 2023 was contributed mainly by shallots, red chilies, tobaccos, sands, diesel fuel, petrol/gasoline, rice, and filtered cigarettes with clove.
The WPI in January 2023 changed by 0.57 percent month-to-month (m-to-m) and 0.57 percent year-to-date (y-to-d).
The WPI Construction Materials in January 2023 changed by 6.50 percent year-on-year, partly due to the increasing prices of diesel fuel, asphalt, cement, sands, and stone for construction foundations.
